On feelings

I’ve come to believe there is no “should” with feelings. They’re irrational by definition. They’re not gonna make sense.

You feel them, you hold space for them, no matter how bizarre or fucked up, and…. They change. They move on. And then you can too.

Your brain is constantly creating thoughts and feelings. You can’t control it.

Meditation is simply observing those feelings without interacting with them or judging them or going with them or resisting them.

“oh look, a thought. Yep, that’s a feeling alright”.

In my mind as soon as you say “I shouldn’t feel…” it’s kind of already game over. Feelings are valid because you experience them. It doesn’t mean you have to do anything about them or act on them. They simply… are.
